Our History

Ommej is a social enterprise founded by Nicolina Fransson, Sociology phil.mast and child and family therapist who has conducted research, business development and strategic work at municipal, regional and national level.

After twenty years of working with both practical and strategic work around mental illness in children and young people, she got tired of listening to the discussions about how difficult it was to really listen to the children and make them participate. Instead, she decided to change course to build a service that creates a bridge between the needs of children and young people and the willingness of the adult world to help them. 

When Ommej was launched in 2018, it was the turn of the businesses to try out the service. Today, Ommej is used successfully all over the country and has received good evaluations from both adult and young users. 9 out of 10 children who test Ommej say that all children should have the opportunity. 

But the goal of Ommej has always been to help all children. Therefore, in the summer of 2022, a new app was released that all children and young people can freely download and tell about their life in, and then be able to contact an adult they know or a support organization through the app. Do you want to know more about how Ommej works?
