Critical report from the National Board of Health and Welfare

It is time to shift the focus from "What is the problem?" to "How do we prevent it?". And the preventive work is one that we must carry out together.

"In most cases where a parent had killed a child, there was, for example, concern from the health and medical services about the family's situation..."

It is a quote from the National Board of Health and Welfare's recently published, important report which investigates how society's safety net for, among other things, vulnerable children must be improved. Identified measures are summarized in the following development areas:

1. Strengthen implementation of existing regulation and support material.

2. Strengthen cooperation around individuals

3. Develop methods and working methods

4. Review the need for regulation.
