No more nine-year-olds with guns!

In today's The evening paper was to read an important post from Carin Götblad, police chief at the police's national operational department, regarding the increase in gang crime and the falling ages. On a daily basis, her colleagues meet children who are in serious criminal contexts – very young children.

"They help by being a guard when others commit crimes, eight-year-olds have helped smuggle drugs and you met a nine-year-old sitting in a taxi with a Glock, a very dangerous gun," says Götblad.

Her prescription for how society should counteract these insane scenarios is preventive measures, and she notes that by the age of 15, it may already be too late to turn the tide for an individual child.

Research at Ommej shows that you get to the core of the basic problem faster, which means that you can also work preventively by putting in early interventions.
