Today, on the first day of the year, we would like to draw attention to the fact that it has been two years since the work with children's rights was strengthened by the entry into force of the Convention on the Rights of the Child as Swedish law. A step in the right direction, but much work remains as there is a great deal of ignorance about what it actually means in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a debate article in Sydsvenskan, you can read how Jens Orback and Helena Thybell<\/u><\/a> from R\u00e4dda Barnen \/ Save the Children Sweden highlights the fact that lack of knowledge, misconceptions and incorrect statements by politicians and decision-makers, among others, make it difficult to apply the new law. "In the long run, this means that children do not get their rights met", they state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let's believe that 2022 will be the year when children's rights rise from paper to practice and that Ommej can continue to contribute by helping more children have a stronger voice and become more involved in issues that concern them.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
